PHOENIX (Reuters) – Arizona Republicans introduced legislation on Thursday seeking to challenge the right to U.S. citizenship for children born in the state whose parents are illegal immigrants or other non-citizens.

This issue is back again in the news courtesy of the Republicans --- this time in Arizona. Here's my post from August here. Again, the anti-immigrant rhetoric is not going to get Republicans any votes with the fastest growing segment of our population. Since the Republicans are looking at a future of losing at the polls in the future --- they need a game plan.
What is the plan? -- Make the people who will matter more and more in the future, not matter at all by taking away the right to vote. Ok let's reverse the 14th amendment of the constitution and not allow birthright citizenship. Then, all the new babies that undocumented people and non-citizens produce -- are not citizens and therefore, not eligible to vote.
Republicans position of dominance now preserved for decades to come.
